God Knew His Story: An Adoption Journey Shaped by Faith

“From the very beginning of our adoption journey, we have seen God’s hand woven throughout each of our children’s stories. He has faithfully opened and closed doors, carried us through trials, and used this process to refine our hearts and draw us closer to Him. Through it all, God has been shaping us into better parents and reminding us of the beauty of being chosen, just as we ourselves have been adopted into His family through Christ.

Looking at our sweet boy, we can clearly see that every moment of waiting was purposeful. He was worth every prayer, every delay, and every step of trust. Long before we knew his name, God knew his story, and long before we held him in our arms, God was preparing our hearts for him. He is a treasured gift—fearfully and wonderfully made, chosen with intention, and loved beyond measure. Our family didn’t begin when we met him; it began when God placed him in our hearts years ago. We are so grateful that on mommy’s birthday, we finally got to meet his precious face.

Both of our children received the incredible gift of sacrificial love from their birth mothers. Their first mamas lovingly gave them their first names, and we cherish that their stories are forever intertwined in that way. It feels like one of those sweet God winks—another reminder of His hand in every detail and His faithfulness throughout our journey.

For those considering adoption, know that your life will be deeply enriched in ways you can’t fully imagine, and your love for your child will far exceed what words can describe. The waiting may feel long and heavy, but when the call finally comes, you will see God’s perfect timing on full display. Trust that He is working, even when you cannot yet see the outcome.
