Trustees attending the September 19 Baptist Children’s Homes (BCH) Board Meeting at Mills Home in Thomasville began the day’s meeting with a reception and tour of the newly renovated Tucker Administration Building.

Trustees and staff members were joined by Bob and Carolyn Tucker and their family. The Tuckers’ gift was used to breathe new life into the 52-year-old building. Son Bobby Tucker is a BCH Trustee.

“It is our desire to always bring glory to God through our involvement,” Carolyn Tucker said.

The renovated Tucker Building houses the new Sadler Archive and Gallery, the Charity & Children Archive and office, the Mary Presson Prayer Loft, and administration offices.

During the meeting following the reception, Trustees approved the 2018 budget and heard various committee reports.

BCH president/CEO Michael C. Blackwell reported on the progress of BCH’s upcoming strategic plan titled 20/20: A Clear Vision.

Nine Trustees were recognized for their service. Outgoing Trustees are: Bill Boddie, Bobby Boyd, Betty Greene, John Lee, Lyndell Pate, Marian Phillips, Eric Vernon, Sterling Wall, and Jay Westmoreland.

The next full board meeting is slated for January 16, 2018. The two full board meetings are always the third Tuesday of January and September.
