Foster Care Retreats

Baptist Children's Homes’ (BCH) Foster Care Retreats offer a weekend designed for the entire family in a setting where you are surrounded and supported in your foster care journey with absolutely no cost to you. It is about creating community between your family and BCH’s other foster care families in your area – building a compassionate village – so you can share, support and pray for one another.

ABOUT THE RETREAT

This weekend is for both parents and children so that everyone may enjoy time together in a supportive setting, surrounded by other BCH families who share a similar foster care journey. This retreat is provided for you at no cost.

Baptist Children’s Homes and its dedicated case managers and staff are with you on your foster care journey – it is our privilege to be your advocate as you faithfully impact young lives in the name of Jesus.

A LOOK INTO THE RETREAT

Join us for a rejuvenating weekend retreat filled with family bonding, supportive sessions, and fun activities! Here’s a glimpse of what you can look forward to:

  • Why Volunteer?
For us, volunteers fill an essential spot. As a nonprofit, the primary focus of our time and resources must be providing Christ-centered care and programs for the children, families, expectant mothers, special needs adults, aging adults – everyone we have the privilege to serve. This means we have limited resources for tackling projects such as clean up, landscaping, painting, office tasks and even items where skilled individuals are necessary. Volunteers are needed for taking care of these and many other responsibilities at our different locations. It is a perfect way we can go on mission together.
  • Who Can Volunteer?
Anyone can take a spot! We have projects for all ages and groups regardless of ability – you just need a willing heart. Whether it is a church group looking for a missions opportunity, a community group or individual needing a service project, or if you have specialty skill sets and resources, we have a place for you.
  • When Can I/We Volunteer?
We can work with you on time that is convenient for you and/or your group. We also have scheduled one-day missions Saturdays twice a year called “Friends of Children.” There are also events throughout the year where volunteers can step into a spot.
  • How To Volunteer
Fill out the interest form below. You can also reach out to Kristyn Butts, BCH Director for Volunteer Engagement – she is excited to save a spot for you! Contact Kristyn at 336-943-3862 or kbutts@bchfamily.org.
