BCH family unites at Mills Home to celebrate God’s everlasting love

On June 24, Baptist Children's Homes (BCH) team members, children, foster care families, special adults, and friends gathered at Mills Home in Thomasville for "Family Fun Fest." It was an opportunity to bring the entire BCH family together from across NC to fellowship, participate in a number of activities, and, most of all, celebrate God's everlasting love.

"The day was evidence of the Lord's faithfulness," said BCH CEO David Melber. "As you heard the laughter, saw the smiles, and witnessed everyone united at Mills Home where BCH was born 140 years ago, you could not help but give God the glory for it all."

BCH marks its 140th anniversary on November 11, 2025. The nonprofit started in Thomasville and is now located in more than three dozen locations throughout NC, SC, and Guatemala.

The trees that tower above the Mills Home campus—known as "God's Canopy"—provided relief from the summer heat as boys and girls played on a variety of inflatable games while adults, who do not often see one another, enjoyed the fellowship.
