Baptist Children's Homes Honors Graduates' Accomplishments


BCH RESIDENTS


Paulina Burch graduated on May 9 with a Masters of Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is a former resident of Mills Home in Thomasville. Paulina is employed by Davidson County Department of Social Service where she serves as the Foster Care Licensing and Placement Social Worker.


Stacey Cheston received her Registered Nurses degree from Craven Community College in New Bern on May 15. She is a resident of the Family Care program at Kennedy Home in Kinston where she lives with her two children.


Moeisha Jones is a resident of Mills Home in Thomasville. She graduates from Thomasville High School in Thomasville on June 13. This summer, Moeisha plans to participate in the Academic Success Program at Western Carolina University in Cullowhee. She will begin her freshman year at the university in the fall.


Travis Martin graduates on June 4 from Lee Christian School in Sanford. The former Cameron Boys Camp resident will attend Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA beginning this fall. He plans on studying psychology.

STAFF MEMBERS’ CHILDREN AND FAMILY


Hannah Cantu graduated on May 9 with an Associates Degree in Nursing from Randolph Community College in Asheboro. She is the daughter of Lynn Garner, director of Family Care. Hannah plans to begin work at a Triad area hospital.


Mary Newcomb is the daughter of Jim Edminson, editor of Charity & Children. Mary graduates on August 1 from Gardner-Webb University in Boiling Springs. She is earning her undergraduate degree in social science with a focus in global studies. Mary is considering attending seminary.


Spencer Saunders graduated on May 9 from Regent University in Virginia Beach, VA. Spencer received a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. She begins graduate school this fall at the University of South Carolina in Columbia to study for a PhD in Mathematics. Spencer is the daughter of Adam and Sian Saunders, child care workers at Broyhill Home in Clyde.


Alexis Snipes graduates from South Davidson High School in Denton on June 15. She is the daughter of Shawn and Samantha Snipes, child care workers at Mills Home in Thomasville. Alexis plans to attend Davidson County Community College in Lexington and then apply to the nursing program at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

BCH STAFF MEMBERS


Jessica Rackley, Lead Teacher at the Fleshman-Pratt Education Center in Thomasville, graduated from Davidson County Community College in Lexington on May 16. She received her Associates

Degree in Early Childhood Education. Jessica teaches toddlers attending BCH’s Weekday Education program.


Jodi Steed received her Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education on May 16 from Davidson County Community College in Lexington. Jodi serves in the Weekday Education business office as Assistant Director.
