A LOOK INTO BROYHILL HOME HISTORY
In 1971, Baptist Children's Homes of North Carolina (BCH), with the financial aid of Broyhill Furniture founder J.E. Broyhill, wife Satie and their family, began a ministry to children and families in Western NC called Broyhill Home.
Broyhill Home is located on 91 acres of mountain property in the small community of Clyde. The centerpiece of the campus is the beautiful lake that is surrounded by children's cottages sitting on the nearby hillside.
Today, Broyhill Home is a part of BCH’s western-area services which includes cottage homes in Hayesville and Franklin, a family foster home in Franklin, Moody Farmhouse offices in Franklin, and HOMEBASE College Ministry on the campus of Western Carolina University in Cullowhee.
