
FBC Arden Hosts Lunch

First Baptist Church in Arden recently visited Broyhill Home in Clyde. Every year, the group comes and grills a delicious lunch for children and staff. Church member Jean Stines created the Visions Scholarship giving children living in BCH’s western area facilities the opportunity to pursue higher education goals after high school.
RAs and GAs Bike For BCH

RAs and GAs from First Baptist Church in Charlotte held a “Bike For Change” on Saturday, October 21. This was the first year the GAs joined with the RAs to raise funds for the church’s annual fund-raiser. The event raised $10,375 for Baptist Children’s Homes’ boys and girls. RA director and BCH trustee Jay Westmoreland and GA director Sonia Livingston organized the event.
The "Art" of BCH Speaking Engagements

Baptist Children's Homes' staff members share the BCH ministry in North Carolina Baptist Churches across the state during the Thanksgiving Offering season. Each speaking opportunity offers its own special experience for both the speaker and the congregation.
Blake Ragsdale, Communications Associate and Managing Editor of Charity & Children, recently spoke at Albertson Road Baptist Church in High Point. With the encouragement of Pastor Ernest Mangum, the church is collecting a Mile of Pennies for BCH's Thanksgiving Offering.
At the end of the service, Mangum's granddaughters, Hope and Hollis, presented Ragsdale with two drawings. The girls drew pictures of Ragsdale standing behind the church pulpit sharing the Children's Homes ministry with the congregation.
Mud Creek Walks For Change

Mud Creek Baptist Church in Hendersonville organized a Walk for Change raising $1,500 for BCH. Children of all ages, including toddlers in strollers, participated in the event on July 13. BCH western area development director Lewis Smith came out for the event.
Three Forks Association DDM Shower

The Three Forks Baptist Association organized a shower for BCH's Developmental Disabilities Ministry in Zionville. BCH recently built two new group homes for special needs adults in the Watauga County area. Churches in the Boone area adopted rooms and purchased items from a needs list. Supporters also purchased gift cards and made financial donations to help the ministry.
