Baptist Children's Homes' offers residential wilderness camps for school-aged boys and girls. Cameron Boys Camp is located in Cameron, NC near Southern Pines. Camp Duncan for Girls is based in Aberdeen close to Pinehurst.
Camp provides behavioral change for children in a highly structured, wilderness environment. Three staff members called Chiefs supervise each group of ten children. The well-balanced, licensed alternative education program teaches discipline and self-worth.
The program provides children and their families an opportunity to work out problems. From arrival at camp through follow-up visits in the home, social workers focus on all family members.

The Frontiersmen (youngest group), led by their chiefs Paul Harvey and Travis McDaniel, spent 10 days in Lake Marion, South Carolina. The group loaded their gear and supplies in canoes and paddled to an island where they built a campsite for the duration of their trip. The group had a lot of fun swimming, canoeing and fishing. They also worked on learning trip routines, canoeing skills and meeting their needs. The group made a lot of progress and experienced growth while on the trip. Cameron held a week-long wood chopping contest in early spring. Each group went for it hard and strong in a friendly competition with each other. The groups chopped wood and made kindling and shavings all week. They also had to keep their campsite clean and in order while maintaining a safe environment. Group spirit also counted for winning the contest. At the end of the week, the Trailblazers (middle group) was declared the wood chopping champions for this year. ... more
Cameron held its annual Parents Appreciation Banquet on February 25th. The parents of campers joined camp for dinner and sharing time. The evening started with campers giving their parents cards that they created to express their gratitude... more
