Weekday Education

Baptist Children’s Homes’ Weekday Education provides developmentally appropriate programs for children ages six weeks old through the fifth grade in three licensed childcare centers on the Mills Home campus. The Weekday Education program offers full day childcare, part time preschool, before/after school care and More At Four classes. Vouchers from the NC Department of Social Services are accepted at each center.

05.31.2010: Gregg Center Receives Five Star License

The Gregg Children's Center recieved it's five star license recently from the NC Department of Child Development. The Center provides care before and afterschool and in the summer for children ages kindergarten through the fifth grade. Registration is now taking place for the Summer Plus program. Summer Plus features swimming three times a week at the pool on the Mills Homes campus as well as field trips, on-site activities and a week long Bilble School. There is no additional charge to parents for swimming or field trips. Summer fees are $110 a week. The center is open from 6:30am to 6:00pm Monday through Friday. 05.31.2010: It's Time to Enroll for the 2010-2011 School Year

It is time to enroll your child for preschool for the 2010-2011 school year. Applications are now being accepted for children's ages two to five. Programs are available for full and part time preschool. If your child will be two or three years old by August 31, 2010, contact the Fleshman Pratt Education center to enroll them now. You may contact the director at 336-474-1201 for information about tuition rates and enrollment requirements. The Robert Idol Child Development Center is accepting application for children who will be four on August 31, 2010. Programs are available for full time care 6:30am - 6:00pm. Half day programs are available two, three or five mornings a week from 8:30 - 12 noon on days public school is in session. The center also has three More At Four Programs. Call the director at 336- 474-1220 for more information and to register now as spaces are limited. The Gregg Children Center is enrolling children now for thier before and afterschool program. The center provides transportation to local schools in the morning as well as pickup in the afternoon. Call now if you will need care for the coming school year. All of the Five Star child care programs at the Baptist Chidlren's Homes in Thomasville accept vouchers from the Department of Social Service and scholarships from Smart Start. 03.17.2010: Take Part in "Absolutely Incredible Kid Day"

For the past 14 years, the third Thursday of March has been "Absolutely Incredible Kid Day." All the children in our care know we love them and care about them, but do they know why? Or do they even know how incredible they are? Please take the opportunity to write a short letter to your kids to let them know you care. It only has to be a paragraph or it could be a full letter. What a boost to a child's self-esteem to find a letter on the breakfast table or have a letter to read at night. It could be the difference in a good or bad day. ... more
