Baptist Children's Homes' Kinston Area Family Services provides emergency care, clarification/value change, continuing care, and after care services for children and families. The Kinston Area serves the following North Carolina counties: Beaufort, Bertie, Camden, Carteret, Chowan, Craven, Currituck, Dare, Duplin, Edgecombe, Franklin, Gates, Granville, Greene, Halifax, Hertford, Hyde, Johnston, Jones, Lenoir, Martin, Nash, New Hanover, Northampton, Onslow, Pamlico, Pasquotank, Pender, Perquimans, Pitt, Tyrrell, Vance, Wake, Warren, Washington, Wayne, Wilson.

Kennedy Home offers school age children an environment in which they can overcome personal and family problems. Kennedy Home seeks to preserve or reunify families. Baptist Children's Homes' second oldest facility is known as the "star of the east."
