Western Area Family Services

Baptist Children's Homes' Western Area Family Services provides services for the following North Carolina counties: Avery, Buncombe, Cherokee, Clay, Graham, Haywood, Henderson, Jackson, Macon, Madison, McDowell, Mitchell, Polk, Rutherford, Swain, Transylvania, Yancey.

Broyhill Home in Clyde offers residential services to school aged boys and girls. Child care workers live with residents in the cottages. Broyhill Home provides emergency care, clarification/value change, continuing care, and after care services.

Haywood Mountain Home in Waynesville, a partnership with Haywood County, is a community-based group home for boys and girls providing emergency care.

Moody Ministries in Franklin is comprised of two group homes. Drake Cottage provides clarification/value change and after care services for boys. Moody Home offers a highly structured Level III program.

Truett Baptist Association Children’s Home is located in Clay County near Hayesville and serves children in the custody of the Department of Social Services from Clay, Graham, and Cherokee Counties. It is licensed for six boys and girls ages six and older.

08.04.2008: Soul Sister Sally Visits Broyhill Home

"Soul Sister Sally", a group comprised of Andy Williams, drummer for Castings Crowns, and his wife Kelly came to perform at Broyhill Home on August 1st. Roberta Brunck, former child in care, put together this concert for Broyhill. She independently raised over $2,000 for the band to come to Broyhill plus lodging and food for them. ... more
