Western Area Family Services
Baptist Children's Homes' Western Area Family Services provides services for the following North Carolina counties: Avery, Buncombe, Cherokee, Clay, Graham, Haywood, Henderson, Jackson, Macon, Madison, McDowell, Mitchell, Polk, Rutherford, Swain, Transylvania, Yancey.
Broyhill Home in Clyde offers residential services to school aged boys and girls. Child care workers live with residents in the cottages. Broyhill Home provides emergency care, clarification/value change, continuing care, after care services.
Broyhill Home provides a Transitional Living program to aid older children as they prepare for life as independent adults.
Drake Cottage in Franklin is a group home providing individual and family clarification for boys 11 years of age and older.
Moody Home in Franklin offers Family Care for single mothers and their children. The transitional program provides a goal-focused living environment within a cottage setting. Family Care is specifically structured to help mothers transition to a successful, independent living situation.
Truett Baptist Association Children’s Home is located in Clay County near Hayesville and serves children in the custody of the Department of Social Services from Clay, Graham, and Cherokee Counties. It is licensed for six boys and girls ages six and older.
Baptist Children’s Homes is licensed to provide Foster Care. Foster Care is a service providing substitute residential care for a child over a planned period when his/her family or legal custodian cannot provide care. A family foster home is a facility licensed for care and a place of residence for a family who receives as many as one, but no more than five children, for 24-hour care. Visit www.bchfostercare.org.
Craig Cottage near Ridgecrest provides a vacation home for BCH residents and their caregivers. Residents are given the opportunity to enjoy a time of respite in the mountains.

04.21.2011: Easter Bunny Comes to Broyhill
The Easter bunny, also known as Leighann Murray, came to Broyhill to deliver Easter baskets to all the children in care on Thursday, April 14th. Leighann, 9 years old, and her mother, Nancy, attend a Methodist church in the community. Mrs. Murray said her daughter came to her one day wanting to do Easter baskets for sick children in the hospital or other needy children.
