Davis House Loves Wake Forest University
11.26.2008
The residents from Davis House braved the cold weather to attend the Wake Forest/Boston College Football game on November 22. Wake Forest sadly lost the game, but it was a thrill for the residents who had choreographed a dance to use during the Wake Forest fight song.
Stegall Residents Bring North Carolina History To Light
11.24.2008
The residents of Stegall Home had a special preview of their handmade North Carolina Lighthouses on Friday, November 21st at South Piedmont Community College where they attend Compensatory Education classes. They worked on their full scale models for about two months and also researched the history of each lighthouse, preparing a report for all to read as they toured the exhibit. They sent out their own invitations and prepared the snacks for their guests to enjoy! This was truly a shining moment, and the models were beautiful. They took pride in each task they accomplished, and it showed!
Stegall Home Residents Bring Home The Gold
11.13.2008
Ronnie and David, residents at Stegall Home, competed in the state Special Olympics for bocce ball this weekend in High Point. This was the first time Union County has been represented in the state games for bocce. Ronnie and David played Saturday and Sunday in heated competitions and both brought home the gold! Way to go guys! Not only did they bring home medals, but they represented the Special Olympics motto well, " Let me win, but if I cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt." They congratulated and shook hands with their opponents for each match, and they were really good sports. We couldn't be prouder!
