Cameron Boys Camp Welcomes Dustin Conover and Garth Thorpe

Dustin Conover and Garth Thorpe, both from Maryland, joined Cameron Boys Camp as chiefs (counselor/teachers). Dustin spent a year teaching at a private school and a few years at a Christian camp in Indiana. Garth played basketball and earned his Educational Ministries degree from Multnomah Bible College in Portland, Oregon. He also served in Bangladesh for two years working with Muslim refugees.

Woodsmen Group Returns from Lake Trip

The Woodsmen group at Camp spent two weeks camping at an island in Lake Keowee located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in South Carolina. The group has been studying frontier life so they built campsite crafts such as a dining table, fishing pole rack, paddle rack, etc. They explored the lake in canoes and did a lot of fishing and swimming. They also visited a few waterfalls in the area. The group studied the scorpions they found around their campsite. The Woodsmen made a lot of progress working together and grew closer together having fun as a group.

Frontiersmen's Fun Week at the Beach Cottage

Cameron's Frontiersmen group spent a week at the beach cottage and had a lot of fun swimming in the ocean and exploring the area. The group also scheduled educational day trips to the Maritime Museum and the Pine Knoll Shores Aquarium as part of their session theme focus: sea creatures. The Frontiersmen also enjoyed catching different creatures in the crab traps that they set out in the sound as well as their seashell ramble.
