Odum Home Writes About Rest Home Visit

11.07.2008

The following was written by an Odum Home resident about her recent visit to a rest home with other childen and staff members: On Saturday, November 1, 2008 the staff and residents of Indian Memorial Cottage (IMC) went to Grace Domainer Resting Home in Redsprings, North Carolina. When we went, we had a great time meeting and talking to the people there! It made many of us begin to think about our futures like what we wanted to with our lives. Believe it or not seeing those people make you wonder, “were they just like me?” or, “do they know how to deal with the things I am dealing with?” or maybe, “how did God change their lives at some point in time?” Ms. Bianca and Ms. Susie are two residents that we went to visit. They were both successful in life and they gave some of us hope! Seeing them makes you believe that you also have a chance to make something of yourself. While I was there I realized that they have a story just like us and they had a lot of time to give their lives to God. We as the children of God in Heaven still have that chance, and we shouldn’t wait until our time is almost up. But most of all I believe that everyone was happy, blessed, and thankful for having a chance to be a witness for Jesus Christ our Savior. In the Bible it says, “Jesus said, Let the little children come to me.”
