Convention Staff Impact Odum

10.26.2011

The Eastern Area was blessed to be recipients of missions in action on September 13. Odum Home hosted a volunteer group from the Baptist State Convention who helped with much needed work projects. They focused on rebuilding the benches outside of the gym that looked great when completed. Jan and Danny Hawkins led a tour of the campus and spoke to the group on behalf of Baptist Children's Homes. When the kids got in from school there was a relay game, which was great fun for the adults as well! BSC's Marty Dupree ended the day by having a touching devotion and offering an invitation to accept Christ, which led to much soul-searching from several of the kids. We appreciate the Baptist State Convention and the awesome work they do everyday!

Odum Home Welcomes New Employees

10.04.2011

Odum Home welcomes new employees Barbera and Melerick (Rick) Harris to our campus. They are house parents at Latta Harnett Cottage. The Harris's come to us from Maxton, which is in the Robeson County area, and they bring with them much wisdom and experience in helping others. Barbera and Rick are quick to say they were impressed and grateful for the difference that the ministry of Baptist Children's Homes made in the life of their grandson while in care at Odum Home. That personal experience gave them a desire to be part of this ministry. Join us in welcomeing them to our ministry.
