Operation In As Much Blesses Odum Home Residents and Staff
04.29.2008
The Baptist Churches have begun a new event this year, “Operation In As Much.” It was a beautiful morning with great friends and fellowship at the Odum Home campus. Jesus said, "In as much as you have done it for the least of these my brethren you have done it for me (Matthew 25:40)." The Lord told us not to be hearers only, but doers of the Word. Our friends from Oak Grove Baptist Church in Lumberton, Baltimore Baptist Church in Fairmont, and Hickory Grove in Bladenboro demonstrated this act of love on April 19 while they taught a group of children and staff how to plant azaleas while singing and dancing to “If You’re Happy and You Know It." Many relationships were formed while painting and putting up doors at Latta Harnett Cottage, dating and re-shelving the cans in the food warehouse, putting out fresh mulch, and moving furniture from South Hall. During lunch, the Odum Home Mime Team blessed our hearts with a dramatic expression of worship in dance. Amairani, a resident on campus, shared her experience since coming to Odum Home. Mr. Danny Hawkins and his wife were present to take pictures and fellowship with us. Mr. Danny Hawkins gave the words of encouragement and closing remarks. We enjoyed seeing old friends and making new friends. Thank you to all those who particpated in Operation In As Much.

Bridget Hunt, Intake Case Manager for Odum Home, has completed the TCI Trainer’s seminar that was scheduled March 3-7 in Charleston, SC. She received her Trainer’s of TCI certification on March 26. Bridget’s certification is for a period of two years. Valerie Wright, Director, Odum Home and Eastern Regional Coordinator of Program Services, is also a TCI Trainer. She was excited to pass the baton. Bridget has already taught her first session of TCI training. Help us congratulate Bridget for a job well done.
