Churches & Community Supporters Visit Kennedy Home

04.22.2008

Kennedy Home had a flurry of activity this past weekend as we had several churches on our campus as part of the Baptist State Convention’s statewide “Operation In as much” event. On April 19th, First Baptist Church in Jacksonville brought some of their youth and college age members to play softball with our youth on Saturday morning. It was a beautiful morning for a ball game. Central Baptist Church from Wendell continued working on the new bathhouse, which this church has adopted as their project. They ended with a picnic lunch which was provided by the American Legion. This Kinston post of the American Legion has provided a spring picnic for the last 22 years. It was a wonderful spring day on the campus. Our thanks goes out to Burnell Baptist Church, Four Oaks, NC, who delivered items to our locker from their church on Sunday afternoon. Won 4 Christ performed a wonderful concert at the church on the Kennedy Home campus Sunday night, April 20th. It was a great time of experiencing the love of Christ through song and testimony. Joseph McNeill, one of the singers of this group, is the son of a Kennedy Home alumnus and has a great love and respect for our work with families. It was great to have them on the campus.
