Mills Home Attends Christmas Play

12.14.2009

On Friday, December 4th, Mills Home residents and staff traveled to Narroway Productions, a Christian production company in Fort Mill, South Carolina, to attend the live performance of "The Real Christmas Story." The play began with the story of Rudolph, Santa, carolers and other traditional Christmas celebrations. The second act of the play presented the real Christmas story. A meal, prior to the play, was included and enjoyed by all. Residents and staff members traveled in a chartered bus making the long trip very comfortable. Tickets for the play and the chartered bus were made possible by the generous donation of the Concerned Bikers of Randolph County.

Bikers Visit Mills Home

12.14.2009

On Sunday, December 6th, the Concerned Bikers Association of Randolph County held their 23rd annual "Bikers Toy Run" for Mills Home residents. You could see the excitement in the residents' eyes as hundreds of motorcycles roared onto campus with Santa and Mrs. Claus leading the way. After warming up with cookies, coffee and hot chocolate, everyone moved into the gym for a program of devotions, singing and a special presentation from Mills Home residents and child care worker Sara Becker. Afterwards, the bikers were able to enjoy watching the children open their many presents. As stated by Central Area Family Services director Lynn Garner, “It isn’t Christmas until the bikers come to Mills Home." Mills Home staff and residents greatly appreciate the continuing generosity of the Concerned Bikers. Outings throughout the year, such as Carowinds and Narroway Productions, are possible because of the money raised by the bikers.
