Fund-Raiser for Mills Home

On June 14th, the Triad Tang Club held a car show on the Mills Home campus. There were beautiful old and new mustangs, lots of food, live music, games, and a bounce house for the little ones. The event was a fund- raiser for Mills Home and the residents fully enjoyed themselves.

Mills Home Residents Go Wake Boarding!

Mills Home residents participated in the first annual "Wake the World" event on June 16th at the High Rock Lake Marina. Greg Hodgin from GoBoardGo organized the event. Several of his wakeboarding friends help out by donating their boats for the day. Greg is the current U.S. Champion and four time N.C. champion wakeboarder in the Masters division. His daughter, Julie, won her first U.S. Championship at age seven! Residents were treated to a full day of wakeboarding on the lake as well as food and plenty of laughs. Residents were also able to ride kneeboards and tubes. All of the residents were able to get up and ride on their first pull! After a day on the water, we were treated to a cook out and volleyball tournament. The food was terrific and Mr. Todd’s team went undefeated in the tournament! Residents were also treated to door prizes, six residents won a full day’s wakeboarding lesson and one resident won introductory flying lessons! It was a great day of fun for everyone and we are looking forward to next year!
