Mills Home Valentine Day

02.20.2008

Valentine Day was celebrated in grand style on Mills Home campus. All the ladies (and some female staff members) were dressed in evening gowns and all the young men (and some male staff members) were fitted with tuxedoes for the evening affair. Each cottage was picked up by a long black limousine and taken for a short spin around town before arriving at the gym. Once they arrived at the gym, all residents and staff had their pictures taken by professional photographers. As the festivities began, each young lady was escorted into the Teen Room. Randy Stewart, Mill Home BC pastor, introduced each resident as they entered the room. Loretta Martin, Arts and Craft coordinator, and Hannah Garner (daughter of Area Director Lynn Garner) and with staff assistance, spent considerable time teaching the residents dances such as the waltz, line dances, and several group dances. After the residents finished their dances, they enjoyed dancing to the music provided by a disc jockey. Refreshments were buffet style. The evening was made possible by a generous gift from the Randolph County Concerned Biker’s Association.
