Operation In-As-Much in Lenoir

05.05.2008

On Saturday, April 19th, Care House & Noel Home were once again blessed by Operation In-As-Much. Every year, since OIAM began, Gwyn Wilson from Friendship Baptist has brought a group of young people help with BCH work projects. Gwyn has them organized into specific work groups and THEY WORK! This year, church groups were from diverse churches in order to build fellowship among the churches of the Caldwell Baptist Association. The group responsible for yard work at Care House was composed of folks from Friendship, Clover, Hartland, Kings Creek, New Life, and Poovey's Chapel Baptist. Another group, led by Larry & Charlene Helderman of Hudson First, painted the day care at Care House. Mr. & Mrs. Helderman have long-standing ties with BCH. Other members of Hudson First joined them, along with members from Center Grove, Clover, Dudley Shoals, Grandview Park and Kings Creek Baptist. Yard work was also completed at Noel Home including cleaning the fence row and preparing the field behind Noel Home for Lenoir Area Olympics. This group consisted of members from Clover, Friendship, Crestview, Fleming's Chapel, Granite Falls First, Hartland, Poovey's Chapel and Union Baptist. These groups did EXCELLENT yard work at both homes. Operation In-As-Much is truly a blessing for the two group homes in Lenoir. Our thanks goes out to the Caldwell Baptist Association for their years of support and assistance!

Churches Bless Care House with Shower and Food

05.05.2008

Saturday, May 3 was a wonderful day for Care House! First, director Donna Lail attended a "shower" for Care House hosted by First Baptist Church's Icard ladies. They had a real baby shower with games and lots of fun! They also had a brunch "that would have fed an army." Donna came away with an entire trunk full of diapers, wipes, bibs, laundry detergent, etc. A truly great morning! Then, at 1:00 p.m., a group of ladies from Walnut Grove Baptist, headed up by Linda Passmore, came to Care House with a car load of groceries for Care House. This was their food drive items for BCH. They visited and fellowshipped before returning to Wilkes County. This is the little church that does a walk-a-thon every year for BCH. What a great Saturday!
