Western Area Goes Fishins

08.27.2008

Residents and staff members from the Western Area were invited to go fishing and have lunch at Little Snowbird on Saturday, August 23rd. This was provided to us by Renee and Dalton Adams. Everyone took fishing poles and bait with them on Saturday and were looking forward to a fun time. And fun it was! Each fish that was caught was cleaned and deboned and fried up for lunch. Lunch consisted of fish, turkey/dressing, fixings, hushpuppies and shrimp. Everyone had an awesome time.We thank the Adams for such a great outdoor adventure for the west!

Residents from Broyhill Home's Carolina, Wall and Haywood Cottages were treated with a fun-filled night at the Fun Factory in Franklin last week. The Fun Factory donated this time to Broyhill and we thank them so much! Everyone got to go bowling and enjoy a pizza buffet. Afterwards, a Christian concert was held with "Kristian Stanfill" performing for the group. Scott Dawson was the guest speaker. It was an awesome time for everyone involved. Thank you to the Fun Factory for allowing Broyhill to have this opportunity!

Soul Sister Sally Visits Broyhill Home

08.04.2008

"Soul Sister Sally", a group comprised of Andy Williams, drummer for Castings Crowns, and his wife Kelly came to perform at Broyhill Home on August 1st. Roberta Brunck, former child in care, put together this concert for Broyhill. She independently raised over $2,000 for the band to come to Broyhill plus lodging and food for them. They performed a lengthy concert and the children all enjoyed this performance. Immediately following the concert, girls from Blanton Cottage and Wall Cottage performed Orphans of God as our way of thanking the group for coming. We want to thank Roberta for her part, as well as the band, for coming to Broyhill and putting on an awesome performance.
