Food, food...and MORE food!

05.09.2008

The 2008 Food Roundup at Broyhill Home began April 23rd and lasted until May 7th. We have received such an abundance of food, and we are so grateful and thankful for the churches and people in the Western Area for donating these items. Everyone has worked so hard to keep up with sorting, counting, and placing the food on the shelves. Even the children have pitched in. They think it is like working in the grocery stores!

BBQ Event Helps Broyhill Home

05.09.2008

"Cookin' for the Kids" BBQ Festival took place at the Broyhill Home campus on Saturday, May 3rd. The event was organized by Ninevah Baptist Church and other church fellowships and featured a competition BBQ cook-off, live music and entertainment. The event also featured Todd Bennick who was "Jumping 4 Jesus". Todd is a supercross and motorcross champion who jumps over a bus and performs stunts in the air on his motorcycle. Althought the rain hampered his scheduled performance, he wowed the crowd in his practice jumps. He also gave a powerful testimony. The event was a fundraiser for Broyhill. A $7000.00 preliminary check was given, with more proceeds to follow. Everyone had a great time!

Western Area Sees "The Miracle"

05.08.2008

On April 26th about 80 children and staff members from Broyhill, Haywood Mountain Home, Drake and Truett went to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee to see the "Miracle." What an awesome experience it was! You felt like you were there when Jesus was born, hung on the cross and was resurrected. The music, sound effects and props were outstanding. It was such a blessing to each one, and they are still talking about it to this day!
