Baptist Children's Homes Reaccredited
August 28, 2007
Baptist Children’s Homes of North Carolina has been reaccredited by the Council on Accreditation of Services for Family and Children (COA).
Accreditation through COA means BCH meets the highest national standards and is delivering the best in quality services. BCH joins COA’s Community of Excellence that includes more than 1,000 private and public organizations serving children, individuals, and families in the USA and Canada.
“Being accredited is a real tribute to our staff members across North Carolina who worked tirelessly for months to meet COA’s exacting and demanding standards,” said BCH president Michael C. Blackwell. “The bottom line to accreditation is that it puts us in an even better position to service children and families.”
COA is an independent, non-for-profit accrediting body. BCH received its first accreditation in 1987. The institution has been accredited ever since.
Since 1885, Baptist Children’s Homes of North Carolina has reached out to children and families in crisis. BCH began with one campus, Mills Home in Thomasville, but now provides services in communities across the state.
