    Administrative Staff

    May 01, 2007

    J. Keith Henry has assumed the position of Executive Vice President of Programs and Services with Baptist Children’s Homes of North Carolina (BCH).

“I am delighted that someone of Keith Henry’s professional stature is joining BCH in this crucial position and at this pivotal time,” said BCH president Michael C. Blackwell. “He has a rare combination of professional skills and spiritual depth that will be a rewarding asset.”

Henry will oversee BCH’s programs and services through its five family services areas. He will also serve as part of Dr. Blackwell’s President’s Management Group. As the executive director of Mountain Youth Resources, a non-profit youth and family services organization based in Sylva, Henry is no stranger to serving children and families. He has worked at multiple organizations dedicated to helping families for the past two decades.

“When I received the call from Dr. Blackwell regarding this position, I knew this was going to be a special opportunity,” Henry said. “The mission statement – helping hurting children…healing broken families – really strikes a chord with me.”

Henry is a graduate of Western Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. In addition, he earned a Master of Business Administration at his alma matter. Henry has received nonprofit certifications from Harvard Business School and Duke University. He previously worked as a Senior Policy Associate with the North Carolina Department of Commerce.

“His strong business background will help BCH in budget planning, financial projections, as well as program development,” Blackwell said.

Henry is married to Donna, and has two young sons, Joshua and Joseph.

Since 1885, Baptist Children’s Homes of North Carolina has helped children and families in crisis. BCH began with one campus, Mills Home in Thomasville, but now provides services in communities across the state.
