Perry Assumes New Responsibilities at Children’s
Homes

April 08, 2008

Baptist Children’s Homes of North Carolina (BCH) president Michael C. Blackwell appointed Sandy Perry as the institution’s new Regional Director of Family Services, Eastern Area. BCH’s Eastern Area Family Services includes the Kennedy Home residential campus in Kinston and the Odum Home residential campus in Pembroke.

“Sandy’s appointment stems from a restructuring of our statewide service areas into three geographic regions,” Blackwell said. “Sandy has a tremendous passion for the Baptist Children’s Homes mission of ‘helping hurting children…healing broken families.’ She brings valuable experience and expertise to this new position.”

A resident of New Bern, Perry joined BCH as a social worker for Kennedy Home in July 2002. She has since served as the Program Director for Family Clarification and Emergency Care, Director of Clinical Services, and most recently as Interim Director of Kinston Area Family Services. Perry received her Master of Marriage and Family Therapy from East Carolina University in Greenville.

Perry is married to Reverend James L. Perry. The couple has four children.

Since 1885, Baptist Children’s Homes of North Carolina has helped children and families. BCH began with one campus, Mills Home in Thomasville, but now provides services in sixteen communities across the state.
