Morgan Assumes New Responsibilities at Children’s
Homes
March 24, 2008
Baptist Children’s Homes of North Carolina (BCH) president Michael C. Blackwell has appointed Linda Morgan as the institution’s Regional Director of Family Services, Western Area. BCH’s Western Area Family Services includes the Broyhill Home residential campus in Clyde, Haywood Mountain Home in Waynesville operated in partnership with Haywood County, the Moody Ministries group homes in Franklin, and the new Truett Baptist Association Children’s Home in Hayesville.
“Linda’s appointment stems from a restructuring of our statewide service areas into three geographic regions,” Blackwell said. “Linda has a tremendous passion for Baptist Children’s Homes’ mission of ‘helping hurting children…healing broken families.’ She brings valuable experience and expertise to this new position.”
A resident of Canton, Morgan joined BCH in March 1973. In the ensuing years, she continued her education and training working her way from secretary to the Western Area’s top leadership position. Morgan celebrated her 35th anniversary with BCH on March 21.
Morgan previously served as Director of Campus Life and Director of Residential Services, a title and responsibility she retains in her new position. Morgan coordinates BCH’s annual Olympic games, bringing together children and staff from the agency’s statewide locations to BCH’s Mills Home in Thomasville for a day of fun and games.
Since 1885, Baptist Children’s Homes of North Carolina has helped children and families. BCH began with one campus, Mills Home in Thomasville, but now provides services in sixteen communities across the state.
