Garner Assumes New Responsibilities at Children’s
Homes

March 24, 2008

Baptist Children's Homes of North Carolina (BCH) president Michael C. Blackwell has appointed Lynn Garner as the institution’s Regional Director of Family Services, Central Area. BCH’s Central Area Family Services includes the Mills Home residential campus in Thomasville, Noel Home and its transitional living residential service in Lenoir, and Care House and its teen mother/baby parent educational service also in Lenoir.

“Lynn’s appointment stems from a restructuring of our statewide service areas into three geographic regions,” Blackwell said. “Lynn has a tremendous passion for the Baptist Children’s Homes mission of ‘helping hurting children…healing broken families.’ She brings valuable experience and expertise to this new position.”

A resident of Denton, Garner joined BCH as a social worker in June 1986. She was promoted to Thomasville Area Family Services Director in October 1999. She received her undergraduate degrees in social work, sociology, and probation and parole supervision from Pfeiffer University. She’s currently working towards her Master of Business Administration degree at Pfeiffer.

Garner is married to her husband Zane. They have two children, Hannah and Haley.

Since 1885, Baptist Children’s Homes of North Carolina has helped children and families. BCH began with one campus, Mills Home in Thomasville, but now provides services in sixteen communities across the state.
