Baptist Children’s Homes Staff Members Achieve Professional Excellence

    February 06, 2008

Nineteen Baptist Children’s Homes (BCH) staff members received professional certifications from the National Center for Professional Certification (NCPC) in 2007. Each individual completed the necessary requirements of NCPC’s program which is sponsored by the Children and Family Services Association. Staff members undergo extensive training that takes months to complete.

The following child care workers were certified as Human Practitioners II: Judy Blanton, Broyhill Home; Walter Blanton, Broyhill Home; Deidra Bond, Kennedy Home; Sonya Dalke, Oak Ranch; Kenyatta Kennedy, Kennedy Home; Betty Locklear, Odum Home; Jenny McAlister, Broyhill Home; Rick McAlister, Broyhill Home; Audrey McClaude, Kennedy Home; Gloria Rose, Noel Home; Andy Siders, Mills Home; Beth Siders, Mills Home; Robin Whiteside, Kennedy Home.

The following staff members were certified as Assessors: Carol Bagwell, Broyhill Home; Donna Lail, Noel Home; Ellen Smith, Kennedy Home; Andrea Walker, Mills Home.

The following staff members were certified as Internal Verifiers: Regina Keener, Mills Home; Linda Morgan, Broyhill Home. Internal verifiers are able to provide the training and assessment program previously performed only by an outside NCPC consultant.

“The hard work they’ve put into completing their professional certification is certainly a benefit to the children and families we serve,” says BCH president Michael C. Blackwell.

Since 1885, Baptist Children’s Homes of North Carolina has helped children and families in crisis. BCH began with one campus, Mills Home in Thomasville, but now provides services in 16 communities across the state.
