Former Pastor Joins BCH Staff

January 29, 2008

Danny Hawkins has joined the staff of Baptist Children’s Homes of North Carolina (BCH), a nonprofit childcare institution providing residential programs and services to children and families across the state. A native of Anderson, South Carolina, Hawkins is the new Director of Development, Southeast and will work closely with donors, churches and other organizations to raise support for BCH.

“I am excited about being a part of the BCH family,” Hawkins said. “I want to make a difference in the lives of the children and families and nothing pleases me more than to with BCH.”

A resident of Wilmington, Hawkins joined BCH in December. He served as Pastor for Wrightsville Beach Baptist Church in Wrightsville Beach for the past 26 years. He was given the title Pastor Emeritus by the church upon his departure. Prior to becoming a minister, Hawkins worked as a district sales manager with Allstate Insurance Company serving clients throughout western North Carolina.

Hawkins is married to Janet, his wife of 44 years. The couple has one daughter, Angie, and one granddaughter, Sydney.

Since 1885, Baptist Children’s Homes of North Carolina has helped children and families in crisis. BCH began with one campus, Mills Home in Thomasville, but now provides services in communities across the state.
